Superhuman Hits the Road with Grammarly

We love it when two of our favorite companies join forces.
Over the last 16 years, Grammarly has quietly become the most essential writing infrastructure on the planet, building what it describes as an "AI superhighway" with roads to all the places where words matter: browsers, productivity apps, mobile keyboards.
With the acquisition of Superhuman, Grammarly is putting a race car on those roads. And we’re fortunate enough to be along for the ride.
When we first met Max, Alex and Brad in 2017, what impressed us most was their belief that communication is an essential part of what makes us human. Today, they help more than 40 million people and 50,000 organizations communicate more clearly and move work forward. We’ve helped them supercharge their growth through recruiting and fundraising.
Now, Grammarly is expanding beyond its origins as an AI writing tool, creating a complete AI productivity platform for apps and agents. Superhuman will be a centerpiece of that strategy.
Superhuman first caught our attention because everyone we knew was using it. Founders, fellow VCs, friends and family all talked about how they’d been spending too much time on email — and that by helping them organize, prioritize, and respond to messages faster, Superhuman was saving them hours a week.
We also saw parallels between Superhuman’s journey and the one I (Ajay) had been on as CFO at Dropbox. So we became true thought partners, helping Superhuman hire executives and supporting its expansion beyond PLG with its team’s product.
Early on, we coached Rahul and the Superhuman team to keep their eyes open for the best way to accelerate their vision. And with Grammarly, that’s exactly what they’ll be able to do.
Superhuman has an incredible product that people who try can’t live without. Grammarly will now be able to get that product into the hands of more people faster. And with Superhuman, Grammarly will be able to help millions of customers revolutionize the way they think about and manage email.
We’re excited to see what happens when Superhuman gets on the Grammarly highway. Our advice? Buckle up.
