A team's knowledge has always been spread across a multitude of surfaces - docs, email, wikis, Slack, etc. But the most valuable parts were usually lost in the cracks: the read on a customer after a call, a screenshot of a competitor's pricing page, a voice memo recorded after a board meeting, text messages with your colleagues—the reason your team made a decision. Fast forward to today, that problem has increased exponentially as the number of AI tools (and agents) has exploded.

As the cost of producing work decreases, knowing what to build, whether it's good, and what the team has already decided is invaluable. Those have always been critical problems for teams. Now they’re agent problems too, and they get worse with every agent you add. Everyone is moving faster on their own with AI. The hard part now is moving together.

What if a team's messy, valuable context could be captured with one keystroke, organize itself, stay current, and show up wherever and whenever the work happens, whether a teammate is asking a question in Slack or a coding agent is opening a pull request? That's Scuba, the shared context engine for teams and their agents. Scuba emerges from stealth today with $34 million in funding, and IVP is proud to have co-led its second round.

From Slack to Scuba

Noah Weiss spent years building products to solve one problem: how to get the right information to the right person at the right moment, first at Google, then at Foursquare, and eventually as Slack’s Chief Product Officer. His co-founder, Dolapo Falola, most recently led engineering at The Browser Company and before that was a core collaborator with Noah across three other companies. Nine of Scuba's early team have built with Noah and Dolapo before, and together they've shipped search, AI, and collaboration products used by millions of people. We couldn’t think of a better team to finally solve the context problem.

A living context engine

Instantly capture anything with a keystroke Cmd+Shift+S, whether it's a 96-page PDF, a screenshot, an iMessage thread, or a voice note. Scuba pulls in the full content, summarizes it, and connects it to everything else the team has saved. Captures land in self-maintaining, personalized Collections that can be shared across the entire team. Through MCP, agents like Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor can read and create Captures. In Slack, @Scuba answers questions and captures threads without leaving the channel.

In the background, Scuba's agent keeps the team's decisions and plans up to date, and surfaces the right insights when someone needs them, so no good idea or artifact gets lost.

As agents take on more of the work, the teams that pull ahead will be the ones whose people and agents stay aligned and build on everything the team has learned. Hundreds of early users have run launches, projects, and investments on Scuba during a six-month private beta.

Scuba is building that for everyone, and we're thrilled to be part of what comes next. Apply for early access at scuba.app.
